The Swedish national handball team pulled off a stunning upset against four-time World Champions Denmark in the EHF Euro Cup away game in Copenhagen. Despite the win, Denmark finishes second in the tournament, as Sweden would have needed to win by five goals to overtake them. It has already been established that France will win.
The final score was written 33–30 following a comeback in the second half. At halftime, Denmark led 16–13, but after Andreas Palicka's fine goalkeeping, Sweden was able to catch up and overtake.
Palicka was also awarded the prize as the match's best player.
Thus, the Swedish national team got revenge for the narrow loss to France on Wednesday.
