The Ministry for Foreign Affairs has changed its travel advisory for the western parts of Ukraine – from covering all trips to applying to non-essential trips. The advisory against all travel remains in place for the other parts of Ukraine.
"The change in the travel advisory for Ukraine is based on a comprehensive assessment of the security for Swedish travelers given the current circumstances. I also want to emphasize the individual traveler's responsibility for their own safety during necessary trips to western Ukraine, and that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs still advises against all travel to the other parts of the country", says Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard (M) in a press release.
The improved security situation, which the changed advisory reflects, is estimated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to be able to facilitate for Swedish companies, aid organizations, and media operating in Ukraine with insurance and travel logistics.
