The aim is to increase knowledge about how culture can contribute in various ways to increased security - and reduced crime - through, for example, meaningful leisure activities and meeting places.
"Culture can strengthen democracy, cohesion and social inclusion, not least among children and young people. Brå will therefore increase knowledge about the crime-prevention role of culture and how it can contribute to combating gang crime and extremism, among other things," Justice Minister Gunnar Strömmer (M) said in a press release.
In mid-December 2027, the authority will report its findings.
