The government has decided to provide an additional 70 million kronor in humanitarian aid to Lebanon, Sveriges Radio Ekot reports. The money will primarily go to the UN refugee agency, UNHCR, and to food programs.
"This is because we see that the humanitarian situation for the civilian population is very serious," Development Minister Benjamin Dousa (M) told Sveriges Radio Ekot.
As recently as March, Sweden decided on a support package of 65 million kronor for the country.
