During the spring, it has been reported that electricity grid prices are increasing more than inflation, and the Swedish Competition Authority has recently warned that electricity grid bills may be unjustifiably high.
What has been questioned is that the electricity network companies can operate in a monopoly market, something the government now wants an investigator to review.

A limit
The electricity network companies are allowed to charge for electricity network delivery, according to rules that the Energy Market Inspectorate determines in advance for four years at a time. The assignment will include looking into whether it is possible to introduce a price cap. However, a limit is already set for how much the companies can earn.
"We believe that it is obvious that the roof-like construction that exists today is not effective enough," says Ebba Busch.
The assignment will be reported in 2027.
Announced contribution
At the same time, the government also announces that the previously announced grant for energy efficiency in single-family homes will be introduced from September 1 this year. The maximum amount you can receive is up to SEK 60,000 per house.
Among the measures that are currently eligible for grants are connection to a district heating network and installation of a water-based heat distribution system.
