Sweden will host NATO's informal foreign minister meeting in 2026. The meeting will be held in Helsingborg in May, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"It is with pride that Sweden hosts NATO's informal foreign minister meeting in Skåne", says Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard (M) in a written comment.
This year, the informal meeting is being held in Antalya, Turkey. The first meeting was held in Berlin in 2022 and the purpose of this meeting format is to give NATO countries' ministers an opportunity to discuss a bit more freely with each other without a predetermined formal agenda. They are led by NATO's Secretary General, currently Mark Rutte.
