In its role as one of three host nations, Sweden was directly qualified for next year's European Championship in handball and was included in the first seeding group.
The venues in Sweden will be Malmö, where the Swedish handball men will play the group stage and main round, as well as Kristianstad.
The opposition in Malmö Arena for Sweden's part will be Croatia, which reached the World Championship final in February, as well as Georgia and the Netherlands.
For Norway, which together with Sweden and also Denmark is a host nation, waiting among others are the reigning European Championship champions France for Norway in group C.
Denmark will face Portugal, which they eliminated in the semifinal in the World Championship, in group B.
The venue in Norway is Oslo and in Denmark Herning, which will also host the semifinals and final.
In the event of Swedish advancement from the group stage to the main round, waiting are the two best from group D and F – which can mean tough opposition, such as Slovenia, Hungary, and Iceland.
The championship will take place between January 15 and 1, 2026.
