Sweden, which finished fourth in the latest World Championship, which was partly arranged on home soil, was top-seeded ahead of Thursday's draw and already placed in Group G, which will be decided in Stuttgart.
The three best teams in the group will advance to the main round in Dortmund. There, the three best teams in Group H, with Norway, Angola, and Kazakhstan, await.
"We're going in with cautious optimism and if we can advance with a full pot and take our opportunities against Norway in the main round, there's a fine way forward in this championship," says association captain Tomas Axnér in a press release.
The World Championship begins and ends on December 14.
