The reason is the recent attacks on the cities of Kryvyj Rih and Sumy in Ukraine, where 20 and 35 people died respectively. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the call was made to mark against Russia's continuous attacks and the two latest weeks' serious attacks.
"During the call, Russia's obligation to protect civilians and civilian infrastructure in accordance with international humanitarian law was emphasized", it is written.
Sweden's Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard (The Moderate Party) has previously condemned Russia's attacks.
"This is not how a country seeking peace acts. Increased pressure on Russia and significant military support to Ukraine are necessary for the peace talks to succeed", she wrote in a post on X on Sunday.
