Sweden, together with several other countries, has filed a lawsuit against Iran for the downing of the Ukrainian civilian aircraft in 2020, in which 176 people died, including 17 from Sweden.
Yesterday, Sweden, Ukraine, Canada, and the United Kingdom submitted a filing to the International Court of Justice in The Hague in a case we have brought against Iran, says Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard (M) during a question period in the Riksdag.
We demand that Iran's responsibility under international law for the downing is established and that the relatives of the victims receive redress.
