The old record from Glasgow 2018, 7:14.03, is a thing of the past.
Charlie Skoglund, Victor Johansson, Robin Hanson and Ludvig Bartolek delivered a strong performance in Monday's team race in the 4x200 metre freestyle and set a new Swedish record of 7:10.02.
But it was not enough to secure a place in the final. Sweden finished ninth.
The Swedish women's team, with Elvira Mörtstrand, Thilda Häll, Hanna Bergman and Sofia Åstedt, also missed the final after finishing 11th.
