Last year, 139 explosions occurred in Sweden during the period January to August.
During the same period this year, the number of explosions is 75, according to police statistics.
Bombings are often part of what police call strategic acts, that is, violence used to intimidate rather than kill or injure.
Preparations and attempts at public destruction have also decreased slightly compared with a year ago.
