In 2026, Sweden had a total of 551,941 active golfers, an increase of 3,085 from last year and continuing the trend of recent years.
However, attracting women to the golf course remains a challenge, among both juniors and seniors. The number of female players has fallen by about 1.5 percent since last year. They make up just under 22 percent of all golfers in the country.
"A more even gender distribution is one of the most important issues for the future of Swedish golf," the Swedish Golf Association writes.
