On Wednesday, Blågult won 29–26 against Serbia in Lund. There was never any talk of revenge for Serbia in Lund.
Sweden led 5–0 early and had a 19–11 lead at halftime. Although Serbia rallied early in the second half, the visitors could never shake the Swedes, who won 29–26.
The top scorer in Sweden was Clara Lerby with seven goals.
With a total of eight points, the women's handball team has secured a place in the playoffs in December. The European Championship will then be held in five countries – Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania and Turkey.
The European Championship qualifiers will conclude in April with matches against Ukraine (away) and Lithuania (home).
