The Government does not rule out receiving patients from Gaza for care in Sweden, as a complement to care on site.

This reports Läkartidningen , which refers to the Minister of Health Acko Ankarberg Johansson's (KD) response to a question that the Green party's spokesperson Daniel Helldén recently posed in the parliament. The question concerned what circumstances are required for the government to reassess its stance in this area. The government does not rule out receiving patients for care in Sweden, emphasizes Ankarberg Johansson.

”This applies to all the places in the world that are currently experiencing great humanitarian pressures on the civilian population”, writes Acko Ankarberg Johansson in her response to Helldén, but adds that the decisive factor now is to ”ensure that people receive immediate help where they are”.

The Minister of Health has previously, according to Läkartidningen said that it is not relevant to receive patients from Gaza to Sweden and then, among other things, referred to the difficult staffing situation in Swedish healthcare.
