The Swedish juniors fell with 4–2 in an even friendly match against Canada ahead of the Junior World Championship, which begins on Boxing Day.

Sweden led with 2–1 after two periods thanks to goals by Felix Unger Sörum and Rasmus Bergqvist.

But in the third act, the Canadians, who are hosting this year's Junior World Championship, managed to snatch the victory through three goals in just under ten minutes.
