The meeting in the national team tournament was also a repeat of the bronze medal match at the Milan Olympics in February. Switzerland then took home the bronze after a victory in extra time (2-1) in Ulf Lundberg's last match as national team captain.
After just 47 seconds, defender Mira Jungåker scored the opening goal in Erika Holst's debut as national team captain, but before the first period was over, the home team had turned things around in Kloten.
There were only 23 seconds left in the first period when Lara Stalder sent a 2-1 lead past Ebba Svensson Träff.
Alina Müller - who decided the bronze medal match - added to the score in the middle period. Hilda Svensson was able to reduce the deficit in the third period, but when Müller netted to make it 4-2 on the power play, the match was decided.
On Friday, the Czech Republic awaits Sweden before the tournament concludes against Finland on Saturday.
