Sweden will participate in an EU-wide procurement agreement for vaccines against Mpox, formerly known as monkeypox.

"Being part of the EU's joint procurement facilitates Sweden's access to important vaccines. It will strengthen our preparedness and ensure that we have vaccines in case the need arises," says Minister of Social Affairs Jakob Forssmed (KD), in a press release .

The EU has entered into the vaccine agreement with the pharmaceutical company Bavarian Nordic.
