Thursday, April 10, marks "Earth Overshoot Day" for Sweden. From now on, we Swedes consume more than our share of the Earth's resources.
It is the organization Global Footprint Network, which every year compiles how quickly the Earth's resources would be depleted if the entire world consumed as much as each respective country.
If all countries in the world burdened the planet as Sweden does, it would require four Earths.
Only about twenty countries have depleted their resources faster than Sweden. Qatar is the worst in class, having depleted the equivalent of the Earth's resources as early as February 6.
