Sweden Has 17 Active Election Fraud Investigations, More Than After the Last Election

That's more cases than the National Anti-Corruption Unit at the Swedish Prosecution Authority had after the last election.

"I am surprised by the scale," says John Högström, associate professor of political science and election researcher at Mid Sweden University, on the radio.

He points to factors such as the fact that authorities were required to report discrepancies in this year's election and the intense focus on election fraud in the media and on social media.

We also cannot rule out an increase in suspected election fraud and administrative errors.

The investigation into suspected election fraud in Borlänge has received particular attention.
