Sweden is donating just over 1.1 billion kronor to Ukraine, the government announces. The civilian support package will help Ukraine meet urgent needs during the winter.

As Russia intensifies its attacks on civilian infrastructure, many Ukrainians risk being left without electricity, heating and water.

These attacks have intensified in recent weeks. As temperatures now begin to fall, this risks becoming the worst winter since 2022, says Minister of International Development Cooperation Benjamin Dousa (M) to Göteborgs-Posten.

The money will, among other things, go to support Ukrainian municipalities for the repair and construction of infrastructure in an environmentally friendly manner, help meet the country's energy needs during the winter, and strengthen the country's ability to deliver public services.
