Sweden lost its second-to-last group stage match against Switzerland with 7–11 and thereby lost the chance for a direct spot in the semifinal.

This was the Swedes' third loss in the group stage.

Sweden then concluded the group stage by defeating Japan with 7–6 in a meaningless match.

There, skipper Anna Hasselborg was rested and replaced by reserve Johanna Heldin.

Switzerland won the group stage ahead of South Korea and advances directly to the semifinal.

In the quarterfinals, Sweden will face China, while Canada will meet Scotland.

The quarterfinal against China will be played at 02.00 at night towards Saturday, Swedish time.

If there is a Swedish victory, a semifinal awaits at 08.00 on Saturday morning.

The playoff spot for Sweden also means that the OS ticket to Milano/Cortina in February next year is secured.
