Large parts of Sweden have unusually low groundwater levels and the water shortage is expected to worsen in the autumn, reports Sveriges Radio Ekot.

The levels are in many places in line with the lowest levels that are usually measured later in the year.

Since we still have a good bit left before we will get a refill of the reservoirs, we can expect that they will sink further, says Erik Öman at the Geological Survey of Sweden.
