Sweden led 5-2 after five rounds, but after an incredible turnaround, China took home the quarterfinal in the World Championship in curling. Team Anna Hasselborg is thus eliminated from the championship.

"Shocking" and "incredibly sloppy" were the comments from SVT's expert commentator when China, after two final super stones, unexpectedly took home the match.

It looked for a long time like Sweden had the win within reach, but in the sixth round, the tide began to turn. Before the final round, it was 7–5 to Sweden – when China delivered two surprisingly good final stones, finished the round with three points, and won the entire match 8–7.

A massive upset – and a fiasco for the merited Swedish team. Team Hasselborg won the Olympic Games in 2018 and took bronze in the Olympic Games 2022.

But the Swedish women lack a World Championship gold and it didn't go their way this time either.

Through the quarterfinal spot, Team Hasselborg has at least secured a Swedish spot in the Olympic Games in Italy in just over a year.
