World number one Sun Yingsha defeated Swedish number one Linda Bergström in straight sets (11–3, 11–4, 11–4), world number two Wang Manyu did the same against Stina Källberg (11–5, 11–0, 11–3) and Wang Yidi, ranked ninth in the world, completed the rout with another 3–0 victory (11–7, 11–4, 11–4) against Filippa Bergand.
"It's frustrating. We want to be closer than we are today. It's never fun to feel outplayed the way we are in three games," Linda Bergström told SVT.
