With reinforcements from both NHL and Europe, it may not be many from this week's national team squad who will be included in the World Championship in Stockholm.
The win gave a much-needed start to the World Championship preparations.
The national team season has been heavy for Sam Hallam and his Tre Kronor – now came the third win in 13 matches.
And the first against Finland on the fifth attempt this season.
The win was the most important and that's what we're competing for. We have to struggle a bit in the beginning, but we get better and better, says Hallam to SVT.
Finland made a lightning start in Frölundaborg and Atro Leppänen scored 1–0 after just 3.27 behind a screened Arvid Holm, Rögle.
Sweden played poorly in the first period, it got better afterwards – but the goals were delayed.
But in the third period, Rögletalangen Felix Nilsson struck in his Tre Kronor debut.
On a rebound, Nilsson lifted in the equalizer after Marcus Sylvegård had laid in the puck on goal and Filip Hållander had worked in front of the Finnish goal.
Defender Tim Heed, World Championship defender last year, then shot 2–1 just 1.04 after the equalizer.
Arvid Holm saved 25 of 26 shots and received the prize as the best Swedish player.
Finland got clear on Thursday with their first NHL reinforcement to the World Championship when forward Eeli Tolvanen, Seattle, gave the green light.
Sweden has not yet announced any NHL players for the World Championship.
The teams meet again in Göteborg on Good Friday.
