The Sweden Democrats are demanding that MP Katja Nyberg (SD) be dismissed from the Security Service's Integrity Council, the Police's Integrity Council and the Special Investigations' Integrity Council after she was stopped on suspicion of drunk driving.

If you are involved in a police investigation in this way, you typically do not sit on the same council for the police, the Security Service and special investigations, says Henrik Vinge, legal policy spokesperson for the SD and chairman of the Justice Committee.

Vinge further states that there is no new information in the case that led to the decision.

This is because we have reviewed how we should act in this situation. We don't have much information; she hasn't been informed of any suspicion. We have media reports but not much else, says Vinge.

Katja Nyberg was stopped for suspected drunk driving in the days after she drove off the road on Värmdö outside Stockholm. Rapid tests indicated possible drug influence.

Katja Nyberg herself has denied the allegations and said that she was involved in a hunting accident. Prosecutor Anders Jakobsson is awaiting test results on the contents of a bag Nyberg had with her.

SD party leader Jimmie Åkesson said on Wednesday that Nyberg must resign if she is indicted.
