"This is a female-dominated sector where they have completely failed," says the Sweden Democrats' group leader Linda Lindberg at a press conference.

Basic staffing should be based on the size of the business, care needs and absences. The operations manager should ensure that staffing is maintained, according to the party.

The party also wants a national requirement for more people to be able to work full-time, greater staff participation in scheduling and an end to minute-by-minute management. Split shifts and short rest periods need to be avoided.

"Schedules need to be based on staff and the existing care burden. Fines could become relevant at the municipal level if this is not taken care of."
