Sweden Democrats May Drop Demand for Ministerial Posts, Sources Say

The Sweden Democrats are considering dropping their demand for ministerial posts, sources tell Aftonbladet.

According to the newspaper, the party’s executive committee will discuss the issue next week.

The sources also say that the Sweden Democrats and the Centre Party have begun to move closer.

The Sweden Democrats and party leader Jimmie Åkesson have previously stressed that ministerial posts are an absolute requirement for their support for a new government.

The Centre Party has, in turn, said it refuses to support a government that includes or cooperates with the Sweden Democrats.
