Sweden Democrats Deny Dropping Demand for Ministerial Posts in Government Talks

The Sweden Democrats deny reports that the party is ready to drop its demand for ministerial posts. “It’s completely false,” says press officer Oskar Cavalli-Björkman.

Over the weekend, media reports claimed that the SD was ready to drop its demand in order to help form a right-wing government supported by the Center Party.

There have been rumors that we would like to abandon some ministerial demands and so on. This is completely false, says Cavalli-Björkman.

According to Aftonbladet, there have recently been signs of rapprochement between the Center Party and the SD.

There have been many strange, hidden sources in the media recently, says Cavalli-Björkman.

Center Party leader Elisabeth Thand Ringqvist and the SD's Jimmie Åkesson were seen together in connection with her exploratory mission two weeks ago.

The Center Party has strongly denied that there have been meetings between the parties - at any level.

"The information that there have been meetings between the Center Party and the Sweden Democrats is not true," the party wrote in a comment over the weekend.
