Malmer Stenergard further states that the humanitarian situation in Gaza is catastrophic, and that "Sweden has repeatedly in our talks with the Israeli government demanded that humanitarian access is ensured."

"The government supports talks on what additional measures the EU can take to influence the dreadful situation for the civilian population in Gaza."

Earlier in the day, Norway's Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre condemned Israel's attack on Gaza on Sunday night, and said that Israel "is using suffering and hunger as a weapon against the population."

Swedish Save the Children demands in another statement that Sweden condemns how children in Gaza are affected by the war between Israel and Hamas.
