Sweden Construction Costs Rise 0.4% in August Amid Higher Electricity Prices

Construction costs rose by 0.4 percent in August compared to July – among other things due to higher electricity prices.

But compared to a year earlier, prices fell by 0.2 percent, according to the monthly Construction Cost Index from Statistics Sweden (SCB).

Electricity prices for builders rose by 16.1 percent in August compared to July and were 20.5 percent higher than in August 2024.

The diesel oil price rose by 3.2 percent compared to July this year, but fell by 6.2 percent compared to August last year.

Interest rate costs fell by 21.2 percent compared to August 2024.
