I am afraid that a lot of countries are leaning back and referring to this instead of holding on to their bilateral support that comes on top of the loan, said Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard (M) in connection with the NATO Foreign Ministers' meeting in Helsingborg.
According to her, commitments to Ukraine this year are around SEK 33 billion so far. Last year, the sum was SEK 40 billion.
Malmer Stenergard hopes for a German initiative that involves national support being added on top of the EU loan as a supplement.
I will bring it up at the meeting.
Germany has also proposed a model for Ukraine's path towards the EU that makes Ukraine an associate member first. This is welcomed by Sweden.
