The British newspaper The Observer has ranked 93 countries in the world in various categories when it comes to developments in AI. Sweden lands in 19th place this year, a few steps up from the previous year's 25th place. The best in the Nordics is Finland in 15th place, followed by Denmark in 18th place. Norway comes in 20th place.
The ranking looks at infrastructure, political strategy, business investment and research, among other things. The US ranks as the top country when it comes to AI in six of the nine categories.
Sweden's best ranking is in the "commercial ecosystem" category, where we are ranked as the eighth best country in the world. Sweden ranks worst in political strategy, where we are ranked 59th.
