On Thursday evening, Sweden faces Spain in Linköping, and Pablo Urdangarin makes his debut in the senior national team for the away team.
But it's not for his handball that he is best known.
The 24-year-old is the grandson of the scandal-plagued former King Juan Carlos, nephew of the current King Felipe VI and son of Princess Cristina de Borbón - she is expected to be in Linköping.
Juan Carlos has been investigated on suspicion of tax fraud and bribery, and has been living in exile in the United Arab Emirates since 2020. His mother, Cristina de Borbón, has also been charged with crimes, but has been acquitted.
Even though it is just a friendly match, the meeting attracts great media interest in Spain.
"Since I was little, I've learned to live with that attention, as have my siblings. I remember how the cameras followed me when I left home," Pablo Urdangarin told Spanish newspaper El Mundo before the match.
The match, part of Sweden's preparation for the European Championship in January, starts at 6:10 p.m. and will be broadcast on SVT.
