On Thursday, the temperature can rise to around 20 degrees along the east and south coasts in both Svealand and Götaland.

It can be the warmest day so far this year, says Katarina Andersson, meteorologist at SMHI.

However, Thursday's warmth will not last long. A cold front is moving from the north and by the weekend, the temperatures will drop.

Already on Friday, it will get significantly cooler in large parts of the country. In the Stockholm area, the temperature will drop to around ten degrees, says Katarina Andersson.

On Saturday, the cold will also reach the southern parts of the country.

According to SMHI, the temperature shifts in this way are classic April weather.

After a period when the temperature is above average, there usually comes a backlash with colder air.

Despite Thursday's warmth, there is still a long way to go to reach the record for April. It was set on April 27, 1993, when it was 29 degrees warm.
