Isabella Wranå complained about the ice at the European Championship in Ostrava when the Swedish women won their opening game on Tuesday night. Not much seemed to have improved when the Swedish men opened their campaign at the European Championship on Wednesday morning with a victory over Norway.
It's very slow in general, and the longer the match goes on, the slower it gets. You end up playing ten meters more than you think you should on a draw, Rasmus Wranå tells SVT.
Oskar Eriksson, who took over as skip after Niklas Edin ended his career, agreed.
It feels wrong for us to overplay the stones, which is why most of the misses are too short, he says.
Sweden led 4–0 early on, but Norway came back to lead 5–4 before Sweden rallied and turned the game around in the final two ends.
"A very important victory. We know that Norway is one of the favorites, along with Switzerland and us, in our group," Eriksson tells SVT.
Two of the six teams will advance to the semi-finals. Sweden will play their next match tonight against Spain.
