The government is proceeding with the proposal to ban betting on credit, Finance Minister Niklas Wykman (M) announced at a press conference.

You simply should not bet with borrowed money, he says.

It is already to some extent prohibited to allow betting on credit. The extended ban will apply to all gaming agents and gaming companies with a Swedish license. And the gaming companies will not be able to knowingly participate in circumventing the rules.

This will become a stricter and more comprehensive regulation.

The government will vote on the proposal for a law draft to the law council on Thursday's government meeting.
