Europe's biggest club tournament will expand from 16 to 24 teams starting next season. But Sweden does not have a permanent spot, and IFK Kristianstad had to rely on a wildcard application to get a place in the competition.
On Tuesday, the European Handball Federation announced that the Swedish champions was one of 13 clubs to have its application approved.
The last time a Swedish team participated in the Champions League was the 2019-2020 season, when IFK Kristianstad went out in the group stage.
The draw for the group stage will take place on Friday.
