In Wednesday evening's crucial match for Norway in the World Championship, star player Sander Sagosen had to be helped off the court after getting injured in the final minutes.
The most likely scenario is that he won't be able to play anymore in the championship, said the Norwegian national team doctor Thomas Torgalsen to the news agency NTB afterwards.
And now it's clear that he will definitely miss the rest of the intermediate round – which means that Sweden will avoid the 29-year-old in the potentially decisive match on Sunday.
It will likely take around five weeks before he's ready for full participation in match play, but Sander has surprised us before by coming back quickly, says Torgalsen to NTB.
If Norway sensationally manages to advance to the quarterfinals, it will take a lot for Sagosen to be on the court – but national team manager Jonas Wille is still keeping the star player in the squad.
Sweden meets Norway at 20.30 on Sunday.
