In three weeks, the qualification starts in Alingsås. Sweden meets Ukraine first on October 16 and then travels to Lithuania for the national team's second match.
We have on paper the strongest team. We have of course respect for the opposition, but at the same time know that we are favorites in both matches and go of course for four points, says national team captain Tomas Axnér when the squad was presented.
For the first time since the bronze match in the Olympic Games 2024, the right wing player Mathilda Lundström is back in the national team. She injured herself during a national team gathering last year and missed the entire season.
Mathilda has worked hard to get back to this level and has had a good start in the Danish league. She has fine qualities both defensively and offensively, says Axnér.
