Sweden and Germany have previously had bilateral agreements of understanding – in English called a memorandum of understanding – on cooperation in research, development, production and procurement of defense equipment, as well as industrial cooperation.
On Tuesday, Pål Jonson (M) and Boris Pistorius signed a new memorandum of understanding that will "strengthen all aspects of defense cooperation."
"The new updated and broadened Memorandum of Understanding is a framework for further deepening our partnership in security and defense and will constitute a platform for further strengthened defense cooperation, including strategic dialogue on capability development and defense equipment," the government writes in the press release.
