Sweden and France are jointly urging the European Commission to urgently submit proposals for new measures against Israel, writes Dagens Etc.
In the letter, which TT has seen, both countries condemn Israel's settlement policy.
They suggest that the European Commission consider measures such as tariffs on products from the illegal settlements and import restrictions via export licences. The rapidly deteriorating situation means that they could also consider a ban on imports of all goods from the affected areas.
The initiative is being taken ahead of Tuesday's foreign ministers' meeting in Luxembourg.
