Germany, Poland, Portugal – or Sweden and Denmark. The potential host countries for the women's European Championship 2029 are now clear.

The European football association (Uefa) will announce who will be awarded the championship on December 3. Italy was previously involved in the discussions but withdrew at the last minute. The country is to host the men's European Championship 2032 together with Turkey.

The Danish-Swedish vision for the 2029 championship is a European Championship organized in a sustainable and inclusive way and with over one million spectators in the stands. The current audience record for a European Championship for women was set during the summer's championship in Switzerland, when 657,291 people watched the matches on site.

Eight arenas, four in Sweden and four in Denmark, are included in the joint application. On Swedish soil, the idea is that the matches will be played at 3 arenas in Stockholm, Strawberry arena in Solna, Ullevi in Gothenburg and Eleda stadium in Malmö. The European Championship final is intended to be played at Strawberry arena.
