The Government allocates 1.1 billion kronor further for a civilian support package to Ukraine. Nearly half goes to securing electricity and energy for the winter.

The Ukrainian people are now facing a difficult winter after the Russian attacks on the power grid, says Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Benjamin Dousa (The Moderate Party) at a press conference.

450 million goes to a fund for support to the energy sector, 385 million to the World Bank's fund for reconstruction, 100 million to mine clearance and clearance of debris that has arisen due to the war.

The government also supports independent media with 30 million, a support that has become more important after the US's cuts in aid.

Benjamin Dousa repeats and emphasizes again that Ukraine is the government's most important foreign and aid policy priority.

– Ukraine is in its fourth year of war, at a cost of tens of thousands of lives and they are fighting in the long run also for our freedom, he says.
