The Czech Republic is eighth in the tennis rankings, Sweden 24th.
"Because we play in the highest division, I was prepared that we would face a tough team. The Czech Republic is and has been one of the world's strongest tennis nations for a long time, both on the men's and women's side. It is a very established and young team with good players," says Davis Cup captain Simon Aspelin in a press release.
The match will be played on February 6–7 or 7–8. The winner will advance to the second qualifying round in September, where a place in the playoffs is at stake.
In September of this year, Sweden defeated Tunisia, with Leo Borg winning the decisive match, to advance to the top division of the national tennis tournament.
