The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also advises against all travel to the area within 50 kilometres of Saudi Arabia’s border with Yemen.
"There is an increased threat to airports, military bases, ports and energy infrastructure across Saudi Arabia. Changes in the security situation may result in flight delays and cancellations," the Swedish Embassy in Saudi Arabia writes in its travel advice.
The decision was made on Monday and is valid until further notice.
