Rosenqvist won the prestigious race with the smallest margin of victory in the competition's history, and was awarded $4.34 million - equivalent to just over 40 million kronor.
The Swede received almost 4.7 million kronor more than last year's Indy 500 winner, Spaniard Alex Palou.
The total prize pool for the competition was a record $30.9 million, or nearly SEK 290 million. That's over SEK 100 million more than the previous record.
The average prize was 8.8 million SEK.
