When this year's "Summer Vacation" gets underway on SVT in June, the focus shifts to their own activities for kids. Now it's about doing stuff without a screen.

"It's great and fun with screens, of course, but it's more fun to do things in reality", says the host Malin Olsson, who together with the kids will check off "a whole million activities", in a press release.

Cycle a really long way, build a cabin, pet the neighbor's dog or create your own armband. The theme in SVT's summer vacation program is free time and the idea is that it should inspire viewers to less screen-focused vacation days.

The activities are checked off in a special app, but apart from that, Malin Olsson and colleague Ellen Särnevång, together with newcomers Ken Gerhardsson and Haider El Timimi, want to help create "bonus time" for the whole family.

"If everyone, both children and adults, help each other to spend less time in front of their various screens, it will be a lot of 'bonus time' left over", says Ken Gerhardsson.

He comes from "Lilla Aktuellt", but has also hosted "Lilla Sportspegeln". Haider El Timimi is best known from "P3 Din gata" on Sveriges Radio.

"Summer vacation" is broadcast on SVT Barn and SVT Play every day from 9/6 to 15/8. More participants and artists will be revealed soon.
