TV journalist and actress Birgitta Alm has passed away after a short illness, according to her daughter Johanna Björkman to TT.
Birgitta Alm was born in 1937 and began her career as an actress. After her film debut in "Blondie, Biffen and Bananen" in 1952, she had roles including in the Swedish dubbing "Pongo and the 101 Dalmatians" in 1961.
In the 1960s, she started working at SVT's social editorial office as a producer, editor and reporter. She worked with programs such as "Brännpunkt" and "Aktuellt i veckan" and she was involved in starting "Studio S".
In 1982, she became a reporter on "Aktuellt" and in the 90s, she became editor of the program.
Birgitta Alm was 87 years old.
